Canopy Insurance Group was founded in 2022 by E.J. Nadolny with a vision to bring a higher level of service and accountability to the insurance industry.
After more than a decade specializing in commercial insurance throughout the Baltimore region, E.J. recognized a major gap in the client experience. Commercial clients received proactive guidance, relationship-based service, and dedicated account management — while personal insurance was often treated like a transaction.
Canopy was built to change that.
By combining commercial-level expertise with a relationship-first service model, Canopy became a trusted insurance partner for homeowners, business owners, real estate professionals, lenders, contractors, and commercial property owners alike. The company’s mission has always been simple: provide clients and referral partners with the kind of communication, protection, and professionalism that builds long-term trust.
In 2023, Canopy expanded into Delaware with the addition of Devin Varca, whose decade of industry experience and commitment to client care helped strengthen the company’s growing reputation for service. As the agency continued to grow, so did the team — bringing together professionals who shared the same commitment to responsiveness, education, and relationship-building.
Canopy’s commercial division rapidly expanded through partnerships with organizations such as BOMA and leading real estate groups across the Mid-Atlantic. By delivering strategic insurance guidance and hands-on service, Canopy quickly became a valued resource for commercial property owners, contractors, property managers, and real estate brokerages looking for a dependable insurance partner for their clients.
In late 2025, Canopy opened its second branch in San Antonio, Texas through a partnership with the Levi Rodgers Group, further expanding the company’s footprint and referral network nationwide.
Today, Canopy Insurance Group continues to grow through relationships, referrals, and a commitment to doing business the right way.
